Starting to get itchy feet…… daydreaming about little trips.

Nothing fancy but a short day trip back to our favourite haunts.

Im thinking of the wonderful drive to Roundstone Connemara. I know that road like the back of my hand.

I was very lucky to do the Sunday market in Roundstone during the Summer months for a few years -oh how i loved it!

The entire day in Roundstone- bliss!

The drive every Sunday was so calming. The minute you passed Oughterard- the raod opened up and Connemara welcomed you in.

Rain, hail,wind,sun- the works – i ventured out. Every market stall holder will tell you- the wind is most definetly not your friend- especially working in a coastal market.

The turn to Ballynahinch used to give me butterflies- every single time. theres something so special about that part of the world.

And when  the car turned the corner in Roundstone, driving down the hill along the pier wall- i used to shout in my car ” Good Morning Roundstone!”.

Oh how i loved those Sundays!

Our business has grown quite rapidly over the past 2 years and unfortunatley we don’t do markets anymore.

But i will always miss those Roundstone Sundays.

What a treat to spend the day in Roundstone for “work”!

Im looking forward to going back to visit.

Roundstone will be my first port of call to daytrip in summer once the restrictions are lifted.

Visiting old friends, having the chats, seeing whats new in the market, catching up on gossip, having a crepe from Melanie and a pint of Guinnes in O’Dowds- cant wait!

Beautiful Roundstone.
